Bedrooms
Following a multi-million pound refurbishment and development programme, all rooms in The George Hotel are beautifully decorated in warm shades of aubergine and taupe, appointed with elegant furnishings, and equipped with all of the latest technologies. From October 2008, a further 50 bedrooms will be available bringing the total to 250, alongside a brand new rooftop lounge and mini-spa.
The categories of room range from Standard to Superior Deluxe with one Suite for the most discerning of guests. As standard, all rooms have: modern en-suite facilities with showers over a bath; plasma TV with cable and movies on demand; broadband Internet access; laptop-sized safe; iron & ironing board; tea & coffee making facilities; work space; voicemail; and hairdryer.
The benefits of the higher grades include increased space, luxury amenities and stunning views from many of the rooms.
Standard Rooms
Available as Singles (one single bed), Doubles (one Queen-sized bed), or Twins (two singles); these rooms are equipped as standard and are the smallest in the hotel. Bathroom amenities are by Craven de Paris.
Superior Rooms
Available for single or double occupancy with one King-sized bed or two singles. These rooms are more spacious than Standard Rooms allowing for the larger bed. Bathroom amenities are by Craven de Paris.
Deluxe Rooms
These rooms benefit from luxurious bathroom amenities by The White Company of London, deluxe bathrobes and slippers, complimentary mineral water and ground coffee with cafetiere. In addition, these are the largest guest rooms in the hotel.
Superior Deluxe
The highest category of guest room, these rooms are identical to the Deluxe but, in addition, enjoy outstanding views over Edinburgh towards the beautiful seascape of the Firth of Forth.
Suite
The luxurious Stewart Suite is an impressive 62 square metres. This one-bedroom Suite has a separate lounge and spacious bathroom with gorgeous views over elegant George Street, the "Bond Street of the North".
As you enter the Suite into the opulently decorated lounge you will enjoy the aroma of fresh flowers and be impressed by the 42 inch Widescreen Plasma TV, ample closet space and the comfortable, elegant furnishing.
Moving through to the large, well-appointed bedroom you will notice the attention to detail that has gone in to creating this truly luxurious Suite which reflects the traditional colours of the Scottish countryside.
The large bathroom with "his and hers" twin Belfast sinks has a separate bath and walk-in shower and is complimented by White Company toiletries.
