Preparation
Our expert wedding planner is here to ensure the run up to your wedding is relaxed and enjoyable. We will work alongside you to plan for this memorable occasion. Your every wish will be catered for and we work with a wide range of companies and suppliers who can add that special touch to each aspect of your day.
Ceremony
Our stunning banqueting suites offer a magical and romantic setting for your ceremony. We are licensed for religious and civil ceremonies in a range of suites, from intimate family celebrations to large gatherings of up to 200 guests. Your ceremony is as individual as you are and we would be delighted to create a bespoke and unique ceremony to suit your day.
Wedding Breakfast
Your wedding breakfast should be the most special meal of your life and our beautiful suites offer the perfect choice of venue. The magnificent King's Hall forms the centrepiece, comfortably seating up to 200 guests. Our unique 'Flight Light' chandelier creates a unique and impressive focal point. We offer an extensive range of food and drink menus giving a wide choice. We would be delighted to create bespoke menus for you.
For smaller weddings the choice is the intimate George Suite for up to 60 guests, or the more traditional Library with its open fire and stag's head.
Lasting Memories
Photographs are your lasting memory of the day and the George can provide many superb locations. Whether you choose the grand staircase, the magnificent lobby or one of our luxurious bedroom suites, each can offer the perfect background for your photographer.
The George also provides our wedding parties exclusive private access to the Queen Street Gardens where your photographer can create images to last a lifetime.
Evening Reception
Up to 300 guests can enjoy the evening celebrations well into the night with your choice of entertainment and dancing. The George offers a wide range of menus that can be tailored to your individual needs, ranging from sumptuous buffets to Scottish stovies or haggis, with neeps and tatties. Whatever you decide, you'll be dancing the night away, celebrating your special day. If considering something smaller, consider The Library for your banquet - one of Edinburgh's most exclusive venues.

The George offers some of the best bedrooms in Edinburgh. We would be delighted to provide your guests with special accommodation rates, to help make your special occasion even more memorable. For those special guests, we recommend our highest category bedrooms with views across the dramatic Edinburgh skyline from the Firth of Forth to Edinburgh Castle.
